More than 50 prominent business executives attended the international forum to analyze strategies for expanding bilateral trade. Ambassador Nguyen Luong Ngoc emphasized the importance of building direct commercial channels and addressing operational supply chain challenges. Consequently, participants highlighted strategic opportunities across agriculture, petrochemicals, manufacturing, and regional maritime logistics networks.
Vietnamese economic data illustrates strong national growth during recent fiscal cycles across key sectors. Ambassador Ngoc confirmed that Vietnam achieved an impressive 8.02 percent GDP growth rate in 2025. Total international trade turnover reached approximately $930 billion, reflecting strong integration into global manufacturing networks. Furthermore, foreign direct investment disbursements rose significantly to reach $27.6 billion annually.
Despite significant market potential, official bilateral merchandise trade currently remains relatively low between the two countries. Total direct trade reached roughly $170 million during the previous year. Consequently, commercial leaders advocate establishing reliable direct banking mechanisms to reduce financial transaction risks. Additionally, addressing regional transportation challenges remains a top priority for expanding cross-border commodity flows.
Ghadir Qiafeh, vice chairman of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, praised Vietnam’s rapid economic development. Qiafeh urged both governments to build comprehensive business databases to improve mutual market visibility. Furthermore, Meysam Sadri from the Iran-Vietnam Friendship Association highlighted recent progress in establishing direct aviation connectivity. Consequently, direct flights could accelerate corporate exchanges, tourism growth, and regional investment opportunities.
Looking ahead, diplomatic representatives plan to organize focused corporate trade missions to Vietnam. These upcoming business trips will include targeted corporate matchmaking, port visits, and institutional meetings. Meanwhile, embassy teams remain committed to assisting companies with partner verification and regulatory compliance.
