A Shiraz gas explosion injured 12 people at a local liquid gas refill workshop on the Javadieh Bypass. The incident, one of the largest recent industrial accidents in Shiraz, prompted a rapid emergency response. Authorities are actively investigating the cause while treating the injured.

According to officials, ten victims experienced shock from the blast and received immediate treatment at the scene. Two others sustained more serious injuries. One suffered trauma to the shoulder and hand, and the other to the chest. Both were transported to Rajaei Hospital for further medical care.

Hadi Eidipour, head of the Shiraz Fire Department, said investigators are still determining the cause of the explosion. He emphasized that fire and safety experts are examining the site thoroughly. “We must understand what led to this accident to prevent future incidents,” Eidipour added.

Emergency personnel acted swiftly, providing first aid and coordinating hospital transfers. Ambulances and fire trucks arrived within minutes. This rapid response limited the severity of injuries and ensured medical care reached the victims quickly.

Industrial accidents involving gas refill operations are particularly dangerous. Experts note that even small errors in handling pressurized gas can trigger catastrophic outcomes. The Shiraz gas explosion underscores ongoing safety concerns in workshops handling flammable materials.

Authorities plan to review all local gas refill facilities to enforce safety regulations and prevent similar accidents. This review may include mandatory inspections, safety audits, and staff training programs. Officials warned that lapses in safety protocols can endanger employees and nearby residents.

Residents near the Javadieh Bypass reported hearing a loud blast and seeing smoke rising from the workshop. Emergency officials confirmed no fatalities occurred. Authorities urge citizens to avoid the area until investigations conclude.

The incident also raises questions about emergency preparedness in industrial zones. Experts stress the importance of rapid medical intervention and proper fire safety measures. In this case, prompt action likely prevented more severe outcomes.

Authorities will release detailed findings once investigations finish. Meanwhile, the Shiraz gas explosion has prompted local leaders to call for stronger safety standards across all hazardous workplaces.
