Hormozgan exports have grown strongly during the first eight months of the Iranian calendar year. Morteza Salari, Director-General of the Ports and Maritime Department in western Hormozgan, shared the latest numbers. He said Hormozgan exports reached more than 4.6 million tons between March 21 and November 22, 2025.

This figure represents a 16 percent increase compared to the same period last year, reflecting steady growth in the province’s trade activity. Non-oil goods contributed significantly to this increase. Over 2 million tons of non-oil products, including minerals, chemicals, and agricultural goods, were shipped abroad during this time.

This represents a 32 percent rise compared to the previous year’s non-oil exports. Salari also emphasized the role of oil-related shipments, which accounted for more than 1 million tons exported from Hormozgan ports. The combined growth in both oil and non-oil products strengthened Hormozgan’s position in Iran’s trade network.

Authorities have expanded port capacity and improved logistics to handle higher export volumes efficiently. The province’s strategic location near the Persian Gulf supports fast and reliable access to international markets. Local businesses benefit directly from Hormozgan exports, gaining opportunities in shipping, logistics, and manufacturing sectors.

Experts say continued investment in infrastructure and port facilities will help maintain steady growth in exports. Officials plan to attract more investors and develop stronger international trade partnerships.

The positive trend demonstrates Hormozgan’s growing importance in Iran’s economy and its role as a key hub for global trade. With ongoing improvements, Hormozgan exports are expected to rise even further in the coming months, supporting both local development and international demand.
