Tehran will host the first international AI Innovation Expo from January 12 to 15, 2026. The event will take place at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds. Iran has seen strong growth in AI research. For example, its ranking in global AI scientific production has moved from 33 to 30, placing the country among the top 50 worldwide. The government is also working to improve its use of AI. According to reports, Iran now ranks 91st out of 188 countries in government AI readiness. As a result, the country is making progress in public service delivery. Notably, Iran’s best performance is in data and infrastructure, which has improved significantly.
