Iran’s armed forces remain fully prepared to defend the country under any circumstances, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi confirmed. Araghchi emphasized that Tehran seeks diplomatic solutions but will not ignore potential threats, highlighting the readiness of the nation’s military and people. The statement underscores Iran’s commitment to national defense while maintaining a preference for negotiation.

In a detailed interview, Araghchi addressed concerns over a potential renewed attack from Israel. He described these reports as psychological warfare, designed to instill fear within Iran. “Psychological tactics are part of real conflict, creating a sense of threat,” he said, adding that the nation remains vigilant and fully prepared. Araghchi repeatedly stated that Iran’s armed forces are ready to defend the country.

Araghchi stressed that military strength cannot erase knowledge or the will of the people. “Technology can survive bombardment, and the determination of citizens cannot be broken by military force,” he said. He pointed to years of international sanctions, which failed to resolve disputes, as evidence that diplomatic solutions remain the only sustainable path forward.

The foreign minister also expressed deep mistrust of the United States, citing past insincerity in negotiations. Despite this, he underlined that diplomacy must remain the primary approach for resolving conflicts. Araghchi’s remarks reflect Iran’s continued focus on defending national interests while seeking peaceful resolutions.

The context of his comments follows a major escalation on June 13, 2025, when Israel launched an attack on Iran amid nuclear negotiations. The assault sparked a 12-day conflict, resulting in over 1,000 casualties, including civilians and military personnel. During the war, the United States conducted airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites, further intensifying tensions.

In response, Iran conducted precise retaliatory operations against strategic targets in Israel and American military sites in the region. By June 24, Iran’s actions effectively halted further aggression. Experts suggest that Iran’s display of military readiness reinforces its deterrent capability while highlighting the limitations of external pressure.

Moving forward, Iran signals that it will continue pursuing diplomacy but remain vigilant. Analysts note that the nation’s armed forces ready posture serves as a key strategic message to potential aggressors. Araghchi concluded by emphasizing that a nation’s resilience and preparedness form the strongest foundation for security.

Araghchi’s remarks illustrate Iran’s balance between diplomacy and defense, reinforcing that the armed forces ready stance remains central to national security. The country aims to avoid war but maintains readiness under any circumstances.
