Iran Accuses Europe of Ignoring Domestic Realities

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said Europe blindfold is sidelining itself in global affairs by following the United States and Israel. He made the remarks during a press conference on Sunday, criticizing European nations for their response to recent unrest in Iran. Baghaei insisted European parties ignored the true events on the ground and misrepresented the situation. Baghaei outlined that from January 8 to 10, peaceful demonstrations in Iran escalated due to foreign-backed interference. He described the incidents as involving violent groups trained and equipped from outside the country. According to Baghaei, European governments deliberately overlooked these facts and continued issuing statements disconnected from reality.

The spokesman emphasized that Europe blindfold approach undermines its credibility on the international stage. “European countries are deliberately ignoring the current realities in Iran,” Baghaei said, adding that this stance contradicts international norms of objective reporting. He accused Western powers of amplifying unrest narratives to justify their political agendas. Iranian officials argued that the recent events should not be framed as spontaneous civil protests. They maintained that external actors exploited demonstrations for destabilization, which contributed to violence and property damage. Baghaei stressed that European governments, by ignoring this context, risked becoming tools in a foreign agenda.

The statements follow renewed tensions between Iran and several Western countries. European nations had condemned the unrest, calling for restraint and expressing concern over civilian casualties. Baghaei dismissed these reactions as shallow and influenced by foreign powers rather than a fair assessment of the situation. Political analysts suggest that Iran’s critique aims to reinforce its narrative of sovereignty and internal control. By framing Europe blindfold as a misinformed participant, Iranian authorities signal their intention to resist external pressure and assert independent decision-making.

Looking forward, Baghaei indicated that Iran will continue engaging with countries that respect its domestic affairs while avoiding those who follow outside directives without understanding the facts. He urged European governments to reassess their positions and adopt more balanced approaches. Overall, the spokesman’s comments highlight Tehran’s ongoing frustration with perceived double standards in international diplomacy. Europe blindfold, he argued, represents a diminishing influence for European powers that fail to assess situations independently. Analysts say this rhetoric could shape Iran’s foreign policy strategy and its interactions with Western Europe in the near term.
