Iran’s parliament speaker praised the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps for rapid action during recent unrest, describing the response as decisive and effective. Addressing IRGC personnel at parliament, Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf said foreign-backed efforts to destabilize the country failed. He emphasized that security forces restored order within hours and prevented wider chaos. Moreover, he credited coordination among the IRGC, volunteer forces, and police for the swift outcome.

Qalibaf thanked commanders, volunteers, and police officers for discipline and courage. He said they blocked a dangerous plan quickly. As a result, he described the episode as a humiliating setback for hostile actors seeking unrest. He accused Israel and the United States of backing violent groups. According to him, planners aimed to spread fear across several cities through coordinated attacks. Furthermore, he said the tactics mirrored regional sabotage operations. However, he stressed that vigilance and preparedness disrupted every attempt.

The speaker described the violence as extremist and brutal. He said attackers targeted both defenders and civilians. Additionally, he claimed these groups lacked faith and national loyalty. He accused foreign intelligence services of training and directing them to inflame instability. Qalibaf praised unity among the IRGC, Basij volunteers, and police forces. He said they stood firm despite serious risks. Consequently, he honored those who lost their lives, calling them brave defenders of public safety and national security.

Turning to history, Qalibaf discussed the origins of the IRGC. He said the force emerged from the people after the revolution and grew into a social institution. Moreover, he noted that its mission remains closely tied to society and public welfare. Quoting Imam Ruhollah Khomeini, Qalibaf stressed the IRGC’s importance to the nation. He argued that the force protects independence and dignity. Likewise, he said it safeguards national identity during periods of pressure. He added that citizens rely on the IRGC during crises.

Qalibaf also highlighted the IRGC’s role in natural disasters. He said members assist during floods and earthquakes. At the same time, they defend the country against military threats. Thus, he described the force as a shield for citizens in both peace and conflict. On regional issues, Qalibaf spoke about the Axis of Resistance. He praised the late commander Qassem Soleimani for a non-sectarian mission. He said Soleimani defended both Shias and Sunnis across the region without distinction.

According to Qalibaf, this approach rejects division and counters false polarization. He blamed global powers for promoting sectarian narratives. He said Iran rejects such pressure and frames resistance as a moral duty. Returning to the unrest, Qalibaf again highlighted effective coordination. He said intelligence sharing and public cooperation ensured success. Finally, he declared the episode a failed hybrid war attempt, concluding that vigilance remains essential for lasting stability.
