Iran’s Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib has issued a strong warning about the IRGC threat to Western countries. He said nations labeling the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps as terrorists will face serious consequences. Moreover, Khatib spoke during the anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution. He explained that countries acting against the IRGC have supported terrorist groups in the past. Therefore, he argued, the West’s decision ignores the IRGC’s role in fighting terrorism across the region. He emphasized that the IRGC threat is real and ongoing.

Recently, the European Union decided to list the IRGC as a terrorist organization. As a result, Khatib called this a hostile move that will backfire on those who support it. He added that countries taking such actions must be held accountable, and they will pay a high price. Furthermore, Khatib highlighted that Iran’s strength comes from its people. He stressed national pride, perseverance, and courage as key elements defending the nation. He also noted that the IRGC threat is closely linked to Iran’s ability to protect itself.

The minister pointed to public demonstrations showing national unity. people across Iran joined rallies to express support for the government. Consequently, he said these gatherings prove the nation remains strong despite foreign pressure. Additionally, Khatib condemned recent riots that he called foreign-backed. He said these riots killed dozens of security personnel, showing the dangers of external interference. However, he added, Iran’s response to such attacks demonstrates its resilience.

He further stated that the nation’s solidarity will continue. In particular, people will stay united to face threats, and Iran will ultimately celebrate victory. Khatib repeated that the IRGC threat underlines why Western countries must reconsider their hostile policies. Finally, the minister warned the West that Iran’s people and military forces remain determined. He explained that any action against the IRGC threat will strengthen Iran’s resolve.

Moreover, national unity and the IRGC’s role in regional security will continue to shape the country’s defense strategy. Overall, Iran’s government insists the IRGC is essential in fighting terrorism. Officials argue that labeling it as a terrorist group ignores its achievements. Therefore, Khatib emphasized that ignoring the IRGC threat would only increase tensions with the West.
