Iran’s Military Strategy Signals Defining Weeks Ahead

Iran’s military strategy will play a decisive role in the coming weeks, according to Mohammad Akbarzadeh, political deputy of the IRGC Navy. He said Iran’s military strength and national resilience have so far thwarted the plans of hostile powers. Akbarzadeh called the upcoming period “defining” for Iran and the region.

He identified three key factors that have disrupted the enemy’s strategy. First, the temporary ban on ship passage through the Strait of Hormuz has caused energy disruptions and rising global prices. Second, he highlighted the precise and powerful offensive capabilities of Iranian forces, which have surprised and confused foreign analysts.

Third, he noted the “meaningful and widespread” public presence at Enqelab Square, which has alarmed opponents. “Blind attacks on non-strategic points show the enemy’s confusion,” Akbarzadeh added. He said the second week of the ongoing conflict will be critical for determining the course of the war. “If Iran maintains the upper hand like last week, the United States may send new signals to halt the conflict,” he said.

Akbarzadeh expects global powers to engage with Iran in the third week to prevent further regional escalation. He stated that Iran’s decisions during this period will be decisive for the fate of the United States and Israel. He emphasized that a strong Iran could influence the formation of an independent Palestinian state and the closure of foreign military bases in the region.

The US and Israel launched a fresh wave of aerial strikes on Iran in late February, following previous unprovoked attacks months earlier. Iran responded with missile and drone strikes targeting US bases and Israeli-occupied territories. Analysts note that Iran’s military strategy underscores its focus on defensive strength, regional deterrence, and signaling power projection.

Observers say the combined effect of military readiness, national unity, and strategic deterrence has complicated foreign calculations. Experts also highlight the potential impact on global energy markets due to disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. Akbarzadeh’s statements indicate that Tehran intends to continue leveraging military and political measures to maintain strategic advantage.

The Iranian military strategy emphasizes national resilience, regional influence, and a measured response to foreign aggression. Officials suggest that the coming weeks will reveal whether the strategy will reshape regional dynamics and international engagement.
