Iran ceasefire proposal accepted by the United States after weeks of conflict, signaling a potential step toward ending hostilities. The agreement follows a Pakistan-mediated two-week ceasefire, based on a 10-point proposal presented by Iran. Officials said the ceasefire reflects the failure of the U.S. and Israeli objectives in the ongoing war.

Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami-Nia explained the strategic and operational outcomes of the war, which began on February 28. He stated that the enemy entered the conflict seeking regime change and Iran’s disintegration. However, he said Iran’s forces effectively countered all objectives, including tactical and covert goals.

The Army spokesperson highlighted that the United States and Israel aimed to expand the conflict into ground operations. Yet, Iran’s defensive readiness prevented close-range battles. In addition, Iran’s integrated air defense system successfully tracked and downed advanced enemy fighter jets and destroyed over 170 drones. This achievement demonstrated the effectiveness of Iran’s military technology and operational strategy.

Akrami-Nia noted that Iran’s armed forces gained valuable operational experience. The ability to neutralize sophisticated aircraft strengthened Iran’s deterrence. Furthermore, the war showcased coordination among regional resistance forces. He emphasized that joint operations improved collective power and regional strategic influence.

The conflict also revealed vulnerabilities in the U.S. military presence. Iran targeted American bases across West Asia, rendering some inoperable and forcing personnel to take shelter. According to the spokesperson, this undermined U.S. credibility and regional trust. Historically, the United States positioned itself as a security guarantor, but the conflict exposed limits in protecting allies.

Operation True Promise 4 marked Iran’s retaliation, employing hundreds of ballistic and hypersonic missiles, alongside drone strikes, against U.S. and Israeli positions. These actions occurred in response to initial attacks targeting nuclear sites, civilian infrastructure, and leadership within Iran. The operation demonstrated Iran’s capacity to sustain military pressure throughout 41 days of active conflict.

Looking ahead, the ceasefire opens the possibility for negotiations that could permanently resolve hostilities. Officials suggest that continued coordination among Iranian and regional forces may further strengthen deterrence. Analysts note that Iran’s operational success and the enemy’s setbacks could influence regional security dynamics for years.

The Iran ceasefire agreement represents both a tactical and strategic milestone. It highlights Iran’s ability to counter advanced military threats while fostering regional coordination. The development may pave the way for longer-term discussions to achieve stability in the region.
