Iran Sweeps Freestyle Golds to Top Asian Wrestling Championships in Bishkek

Milad Valizadeh claimed gold in the 57kg category. Kamran Ghasempour secured gold in the 86kg division. Mohammadmobin Azimi won gold in the 92kg category, while Amirhossein Zare captured gold in the 125kg heavyweight class. Collectively, these results strengthened Iran’s overall medal tally.

Amirali Azarpira earned the silver medal in the 97kg weight class. He delivered a strong performance throughout the tournament, and his final match determined Iran’s only silver result. Additionally, his effort added crucial points to the team total.

Ahmad Mohammadnejhad won bronze in the 61kg category. Sina Khalili earned bronze in the 70kg division. Amirmohammad Yazdani secured bronze in the 74kg category. These results added balance to Iran’s podium presence across divisions.

India finished second with 162 points after consistent performances, while Japan followed in third place with 127 points. The final standings reflected tight competition among leading wrestling nations, and margins remained competitive until the final sessions.

The championships took place in Bishkek from April 6 to April 12, 2026. Organizers hosted athletes from across Asia, and the event featured both freestyle and Greco-Roman disciplines. Moreover, scheduling allowed teams to compete across multiple categories within a structured format.
