Iran is witnessing a significant surge in renewable energy investment, especially through solar power plants. Consequently, the government expects this growth to continue in the coming years. Mehdi Goodarzi, Executive Secretary of the 7th Solar Power Plants Conference, explained that both major investors and small applicants are increasingly interested in building solar projects. Therefore, demand for renewable energy is rising steadily.

He added that electricity imbalances last year accelerated the development of solar energy. Furthermore, supportive policies this year continue to encourage new projects nationwide. The conference examines technical and economic aspects of these projects. For example, experts discuss costs, revenue potential, and operational requirements. This ensures applicants understand the full scope of investing.

According to Goodarzi, the Seventh National Development Plan emphasizes renewable energy. Consequently, careful evaluation of solar projects is essential to guarantee efficiency and profitability. Since the 14th administration took office, Iran has prioritized renewable energy to stabilize electricity supply. As a result, solar power plants now play a crucial role in addressing the energy gap.

Recent statistics indicate that the country’s renewable energy capacity has reached 2,550 megawatts. This represents an unprecedented increase and shows the strong momentum of solar initiatives. Additionally, the conference discusses economic models for investors. Options include guaranteed electricity purchase agreements, energy exchange trading, and stock market green board sales. These measures provide clarity and transparency for all participants.

Officials stressed that expanding renewable energy strengthens energy security. Moreover, it reduces dependence on conventional sources and supports sustainable economic growth. Goodarzi predicted that interest in solar power plants will continue rising over the next four years. Therefore, policymakers and investors are likely to focus on projects that ensure stable electricity supply.

Experts also emphasized supporting both major and small investors. By doing so, Iran can diversify energy sources and enhance the resilience of its national grid. Overall, the 7th Solar Power Plants Conference highlights the country’s commitment to renewable energy.

Consequently, these projects play a vital role in Iran’s energy strategy and future development. As Iran continues expanding renewable energy, solar power plants remain central to solving electricity imbalances. Furthermore, they support long-term economic growth and sustainability.
