Iran urged the nuclear watchdog on Sunday to address American missile strikes against its Darkhoveyn power facility. Furthermore, Iranian diplomats condemned the dangerous attack as a direct violation of critical global nonproliferation agreements. Consequently, Tehran demanded swift international condemnation to protect civilian nuclear infrastructure from future escalating military strikes.

American forces launched several guided missiles at the Karun Nuclear Power Plant early on July 19. However, diplomatic officials emphasized that the facility represents a key symbol of Iranian scientific self-sufficiency and independence. Moreover, this aggressive assault marked the eighteenth major strike targeting safeguarded Iranian nuclear infrastructure since June 2025. In addition, Iranian diplomats stated that foreign powers targeted civilian infrastructure purely to enforce compliance through coercion.

Tehran accused Western aggressors of fabricating nonproliferation claims to justify illegitimate regional military objectives. Meanwhile, Iranian officials warned that passive international responses dangerously encourage further unlawful strikes against peaceful facilities. Therefore, the mission warned that continued normalization of aggression threatens global economic stability and nuclear cooperation. As a result, global leaders must establish clear boundaries to prevent further destruction of essential energy infrastructure.

The head of Iran’s atomic agency sent a formal letter to Director General Rafael Grossi. Specifically, the urgent letter requested immediate action from the atomic watchdog to restore global nonproliferation credibility. Subsequently, Iranian leaders declared their firm commitment to defend national sovereignty against all external military threats. Furthermore, diplomatic representatives reiterated that protecting peaceful nuclear sites remains an essential collective global duty today.

The diplomatic mission urged global bodies to enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy against unlawful aggression. Indeed, international observers now monitor the situation closely as regional security tensions reach critical new heights. In conclusion, the international community faces growing pressure to address these severe challenges to global security. Ultimately, future developments will depend on how effectively international institutions enforce established legal rules and protections.
