Hossein Zeinali, commissioner of the Ministry of Agriculture’s pharmaceutical plants project, reported that Iran exported 150 tons during this period. He emphasized that the country expects total saffron production to reach 250 tons by yearend. These figures underline the sector’s resilience and its growing contribution to the economy.
In comparison, Iran exported 244 tons of saffron last year. Domestic consumption, according to Zeinali, reached 80 tons, reflecting stable internal demand alongside international trade.
