The second edition of the global youth tournament launches today in Doha, with international squads competing for the title. Young athletes have gathered in Qatar to gain valuable international experience. This major sporting event serves as a critical stepping stone for future global stars.

Iran enters the preliminary round with strong ambitions after completing an intensive training regimen. Head coach Arash Sadeghiani leads the Iranian squad against Algeria in their opening Pool E match. The tactical opening fixture offers the Asian team an immediate opportunity to establish early momentum.

The Iranian team faces a challenging path through the group stage against experienced international opponents. Their designated group opponents include Chinese Taipei, Pakistan, and Algeria in competitive Pool E matches. Every preliminary fixture remains essential for securing a favorable position in the knockout rounds.

Tournament officials have introduced a revised structure to increase competitive intensity throughout the group stage. Organizers divided the participating nations into groups of four teams for the preliminary round-robin phase. The top two teams from each group automatically advance to the high-stakes Round of 16. Furthermore, the best third-placed teams also progress to the elimination rounds. Consequently, every pool match holds significant strategic value for teams seeking advancement.

Sadeghiani’s roster enters the competition with considerable momentum following successful preparatory matches in Doha. The Iranian squad recently defeated defending champion Italy 3–1 in a warm-up friendly. That impressive performance followed several positive international friendly results during their extended training camp. These victories provided the team with valuable tactical confidence ahead of the official competition.

Iran has a prestigious history in age-group volleyball and seeks another podium finish this year. Italy won the inaugural event in 2024 by defeating Argentina in a thrilling final. Meanwhile, Iran aims to challenge European powerhouses and secure a place in the medal rounds.

Following their opener against Algeria, Iran will face Pakistan on August 21 in Doha. The squad will then conclude its group-stage campaign against Chinese Taipei on August 23. Successful navigation of Pool E would position Iran for a strong campaign in the knockout phase.
