Iranian officials organized these bilateral sessions to strengthen regional partnerships across key healthcare and technology sectors. Consequently, the initiative establishes a framework for expanding medical trade, joint research projects, and specialized clinical exchanges.
Participants from all three countries focused heavily on medical education, vaccine development, and pharmaceutical supply chain management. Additionally, delegates explored opportunities for cooperation in health tourism, emergency response systems, cancer treatment, and organ transplantation. Furthermore, representatives established dedicated technical subcommittees to efficiently manage diplomatic channels and administrative protocols.
The participating ministries scheduled semiannual meetings to evaluate operational progress and systematically address trade challenges. The next formal consultations will take place in November to outline concrete joint programs. These structured efforts align with broader government policies prioritizing domestic healthcare self-sufficiency and the expansion of international trade.
Earlier negotiations between Iranian pharmaceutical regulators and Belarusian diplomats laid the groundwork for expanding bilateral ties. Belarusian officials expressed a strong willingness to import Iranian pharmaceuticals and specialized active pharmaceutical ingredients. Meanwhile, regulators emphasized the use of formal banking channels to ensure uninterrupted medicine deliveries across international borders.
Iran’s Health Minister Mohammad-Reza Zafarqandi recently reaffirmed that expanding domestic medical production remains a vital national priority. Currently, Iranian manufacturers export approximately $20 million worth of medical devices to more than 60 countries annually. Domestic industrial facilities manufacture more than 70 percent of the medical devices and specialized hospital equipment required in the country.
Domestic enterprises produce 85 percent of operating-room equipment and nearly all specialized intensive-care beds. More than 600 certified manufacturing companies operate within the country, supplying 99 percent of pharmaceuticals in the domestic market. Ultimately, these upcoming operational plans are expected to accelerate the international distribution of high-quality Iranian medical technologies.
