Iranian Wrestlers Shine at Asian Youth Games

Iranian wrestlers continued to impress at the Asian Youth Games, winning three additional medals. These victories not only added to Iran’s medal tally but also highlighted the strength of the country’s youth freestyle wrestling program. Moreover, the results strengthened Iran’s position as it prepares for the Youth Olympic qualifiers.

First, Amir Mohammad Zarrinkam achieved a gold medal in the Boys’ Freestyle 71Kg category. He defeated Tajikistan’s Ayubjon Bozorzoda 8-3. His victory demonstrated both skill and determination. As a result, Iranian wrestlers gained a significant boost in confidence.

Meanwhile, Taha Hashemi also earned a win in the Boys’ Freestyle 60Kg division. He defeated Tajikistan’s Yokub Ibronov 9-3. On the other hand, Arman Elahi faced a strong opponent from Uzbekistan, Ulugbek Rashidov, in the Boys’ Freestyle 51Kg event. Although Elahi lost, he showed resilience and potential for future competitions.

Earlier, Parsa Tahmasbi had already claimed a gold medal for Iranian wrestlers in the Boys’ Freestyle 45Kg category. His success inspired other team members. Consequently, the team entered subsequent matches with high morale and determination.

The Asian Youth Games are taking place in Bahrain. They bring together young athletes from across Asia. The event also serves as a qualifying platform for the Youth Olympic Games. Iran has sent 236 athletes to compete in various sports, reflecting the country’s commitment to developing future champions. Furthermore, participation provides valuable international exposure for young athletes.

Officials from Iran’s wrestling federation praised the athletes’ preparation and dedication.
