Iran’s national under-17 boys’ volleyball team won the world championship on Saturday afternoon after defeating France 3–1 in the final in Qatar. Coached by Arash Sadeghiani, the team secured a historic gold medal after a dominant performance throughout the tournament. The victory highlights the growing strength and depth of Iran’s youth volleyball program on the international stage.
Iran took early control of the final, winning the first two sets 25–18 and 25–15 with precise and consistent play. France responded by taking the third set 25–22. However, Iran quickly regained control in the decisive fourth set. Sadeghiani’s players dominated 25–12 to secure the championship title.
The victory capped an impressive undefeated campaign, with Iran recording seven consecutive wins in Doha. Before reaching the final, the team secured important victories over Algeria, Chinese Taipei twice, and Pakistan twice. Iran then swept Argentina in the semifinal to book its place in the gold medal match.
Sports officials and volleyball analysts described the triumph as a significant milestone for youth development in the region. The tournament demonstrated the team’s strong coaching, physical preparation, and mental resilience. Tactical adjustments by the coaching staff also helped Iran maintain its scoring efficiency against different international playing styles.
Following the world championship victory, national sports officials are expected to integrate the promising young players into senior-level training programs.
