Isfahan tourism growth received a significant boost as Tajikistan’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Ramazon Rahimzoda, visited the historic Iranian city on Monday. The visit aimed to strengthen cultural and economic ties between Iran and Tajikistan while promoting international tourism.

Rahimzoda arrived at Isfahan International Airport, where Governor-General Mehdi Jamalinejad welcomed him. He described Isfahan as a city of peace in West Asia. Furthermore, he highlighted that shared language and cultural similarities provide a strong foundation for expanding trade and tourism.

During the visit, Rahimzoda met with provincial officials and tourism representatives. They discussed strategies to increase international awareness of the city’s attractions. Moreover, the minister stressed that many outside Iran remain unaware of Isfahan’s historical and cultural significance. He encouraged global visitors to explore the city’s art, architecture, and heritage firsthand.

The Tajik minister also toured several of Isfahan’s most notable landmarks. These included Islamic architectural sites, traditional bazaars, Persian gardens, and historic bridges. Each destination reflects the city’s centuries-old cultural prominence, dating back to its period as the Safavid dynasty capital under Shah Abbas the Great. In addition, Rahimzoda praised the city’s preservation efforts.

Isfahan recently received further recognition when the Asian Mayors Forum named it the Asian Capital of Tourism for 2025. This honor underscores the city’s cultural heritage and its contributions to international urban cooperation. Consequently, officials hope it will attract more foreign visitors and continue to enhance Isfahan tourism growth.

Experts suggest promoting historic cities like Isfahan can strengthen bilateral relations and generate economic benefits. Additionally, cultural tourism supports local businesses, hospitality services, and artisans. By targeting countries with shared language and heritage, officials aim to create sustainable tourism development.

Looking ahead, Iranian and Tajik authorities plan to expand collaborative projects. These may include cultural exchanges, joint tourism campaigns, and trade partnerships. Such initiatives could further strengthen Isfahan tourism growth and reinforce ties between the two nations.

Overall, the visit by Tajikistan’s minister highlights Isfahan’s global appeal. With continued international promotion, the city is poised to maintain its reputation as one of Iran’s premier cultural and tourist destinations.
