Direct commercial flights connecting Iran and North Africa have resumed operations through Imam Khomeini International Airport. Airport authorities confirmed the weekly service on Saturday following a schedule change from its previous Friday operations. Consequently, the restored air route has rejoined Tehran’s expanding international aviation network.

Chief Executive Officer Ramin Kashef-Azar outlined the operational details of the reactivated passenger route. Specifically, flights will depart every Saturday morning, providing regular travel between Iran and Tunisia. Furthermore, airport officials have incorporated the new Saturday schedule into the airport’s regular flight timetable.

The restoration of the route supports efforts to expand Iran’s international aviation connectivity. Furthermore, the reactivation follows the recent launch of a direct commercial flight connecting Iran with Vietnam. Aviation officials continue exploring additional international destinations to improve passenger mobility and strengthen trade relations.

The resumption of direct flights between Iran and Tunisia is expected to support tourism and bilateral trade. Airlines anticipate steady demand from business, tourism, and diplomatic travelers using the route. Moreover, aviation analysts view the regular service as an important link for strengthening economic and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Looking ahead, Imam Khomeini International Airport City plans to pursue additional international air agreements. Civil aviation officials are also working with foreign carriers to expand passenger capacity across key markets. Ultimately, continued route expansion could strengthen Tehran’s position as a regional aviation and transit hub.
