Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei sharply criticized the United States on Wednesday, calling the Iran nuclear claim a repeated falsehood. He stated that Washington continues to use this claim to justify its ongoing war against Iran. Baghaei emphasized that the U.S. actions lack any logical, moral, or legal foundation.

Baghaei urged the American public, regional nations, European countries, and the international community to recognize this war as unjust. He argued that repeating the Iran nuclear claim cannot legitimize the conflict. “This is an unjust war, which cannot be sold to the world through repeating lies nor justified by unfounded excuses,” he wrote on his X account.

The U.S. and Israel began military operations against Iran on February 28. The strikes resulted in the deaths of Iran’s Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, senior military commanders, and civilians. In response, Iranian forces launched targeted retaliatory attacks, including missile strikes on U.S. bases in the region and Israeli positions in the occupied territories.

Baghaei’s remarks came after White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt repeated allegations that Tehran is attempting to develop nuclear weapons. This claim, according to Iranian officials, has no basis and serves solely as a pretext for continued aggression.

Earlier this week, Joseph Kent, director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, resigned in protest against the war. In his resignation letter, he said Iran posed no imminent threat to the United States. Kent also highlighted that Washington initiated military operations under pressure from Israel and its American lobbying influence.

Despite Kent’s statements, Leavitt reiterated the U.S. allegations, maintaining that Iran’s nuclear program threatens global security. Experts say such rhetoric may further escalate tensions in the Middle East. They note that diplomatic solutions remain limited due to ongoing military hostilities.

The international community has increasingly called for restraint from all parties. Analysts warn that without dialogue, the region could experience prolonged instability. Baghaei stressed that Iran will continue defending its territory and people while highlighting the falsehood of the Iran nuclear claim.

Observers suggest the conflict could influence global energy markets and international relations. They recommend urgent diplomatic engagement to prevent further escalation. Meanwhile, Iran’s officials insist on transparency regarding its nuclear activities, rejecting any justification for foreign aggression.
