Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf has congratulated six senior military officials following their appointments to key positions.
The messages came after six separate decrees announced major changes across Iran’s Armed Forces and security institutions. The appointments place experienced commanders in positions overseeing military coordination, the IRGC, naval operations, and the Basij.
Ghalibaf congratulated Major General Ali Abdollahi on becoming Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. He described the position as a major strategic responsibility requiring strong leadership and extensive military experience.
Ghalibaf also praised Abdollahi’s record during what Iranian officials describe as recent US-Israeli aggression. He linked the new commander’s experience to Iran’s broader efforts to strengthen national defense and military readiness.
Meanwhile, Ghalibaf congratulated Major General Ahmad Vahidi on becoming Commander-in-Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He highlighted Vahidi’s previous leadership of the Quds Force and his experience as Interior Minister.
According to Ghalibaf, Vahidi’s background could support continued readiness within the IRGC. He also described the organization as an important component of Iran’s national defense structure.
Ghalibaf separately congratulated Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari on becoming Deputy Chief of Staff. He emphasized the Army’s history of military service and sacrifices during the Iran-Iraq War and recent regional confrontations.
Furthermore, Rear Admiral Amir Ali Ozamaei received congratulations after becoming Commander of the IRGC Navy. Ghalibaf highlighted his maritime experience and responsibilities involving the Strait of Hormuz and Persian Gulf security.
The parliament speaker also paid tribute to former IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri. He expressed confidence that Ozamaei would build on the force’s previous operational experience.
In another message, Ghalibaf congratulated cleric Hossein Taeb on becoming head of the Basij Organization. He said Taeb’s experience could help expand the organization’s activities and strengthen public participation.
Ghalibaf congratulated Major General Mostafa Izadi on becoming Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC. He said Izadi’s experience would support efforts to address emerging security and defense challenges.
The leadership changes followed six decrees issued on Monday by Iran’s Commander-in-Chief. Together, the appointments represent a significant reshaping of senior military leadership.
The new commanders now face responsibilities involving defense planning, operational readiness, maritime security, and internal mobilization. Their previous experience could therefore influence Iran’s military priorities and command coordination in the coming period.
