Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf declared that the United States must face the US aggression consequences following its involvement in attacks against Iran last June. Speaking during a parliamentary session on Sunday, he emphasized that Washington’s actions violated international law and Iran’s sovereignty. Ghalibaf said the U.S. president’s admission of involvement in Israel’s assault on Iran revealed clear violations of the United Nations Charter. He stressed that the aggression resulted in the loss of many Iranian lives, including senior military officials and civilians.

The Speaker condemned the attack as a “heinous act” and asserted that the U.S. must be held responsible for its illegal actions. He said that Iran’s leadership and people stand united and resolute in defending the country’s independence and dignity. On June 13, Israel launched a sudden military strike on Iranian soil, targeting senior commanders, scientists, and public areas. The assault marked the beginning of a short but intense conflict that drew international concern.

A week later, the United States intensified the confrontation by bombing three Iranian nuclear facilities. Iranian officials described the strikes as a blatant breach of global treaties, including the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Ghalibaf said these developments underscored the need for justice and clear accountability for US aggression consequences. By June 24, Iran had carried out a series of retaliatory operations against both the Israeli and American forces. These counterattacks, according to Tehran, successfully stopped further foreign strikes and restored a temporary calm.

The U.S. President Donald Trump later claimed full responsibility for the actions. Speaking at the White House, he said, “Israel attacked first. I was very much in charge of that.” His statement confirmed what Iranian officials had long accused Washington of — direct coordination with Israel in the assault. Trump’s comments have reignited debate about U.S. foreign policy and its military role in the Middle East. Observers say his remarks could expose Washington to legal and diplomatic challenges.

Ghalibaf reiterated that Iran would not remain silent in the face of continued hostilities. He said Tehran is determined to pursue all political, legal, and military options to defend its sovereignty. He warned that any further attacks would lead to severe US aggression consequences, signaling that Iran views deterrence and retaliation as essential to its national security strategy.

Iranian analysts argue that these statements mark a decisive phase in the country’s approach toward external threats. They suggest that the government aims to reinforce both domestic unity and regional influence amid growing tensions. The situation remains tense, and officials in Tehran have called for global attention to what they describe as unlawful acts of aggression against a sovereign state.
