Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held key diplomatic meetings during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek. He met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on the sidelines of the regional gathering. Furthermore, he held bilateral consultations with Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to discuss mutual security and diplomatic concerns.

The second day of the high-level international summit continued in Bishkek with major regional leaders in attendance. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian represented Iran alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. Additionally, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev participated actively in the summit.

Delegates focused heavily on expanding regional economic integration, strengthening collective security frameworks, and advancing strategic energy cooperation. President Pezeshkian advocated establishing a joint Shanghai Cooperation Organization banking institution to enhance regional trade. Moreover, member states aim to strengthen multilateral financial mechanisms to address the impact of unilateral global economic sanctions.

Diplomats view these parallel discussions as vital steps toward deeper regional economic cooperation and stability. Consequently, Araghchi emphasized that dialogue and active multilateral cooperation remain essential tools for sustaining peace across Eurasia. Moving forward, member states plan to implement joint infrastructure projects to improve connectivity between Central and South Asia.

Participating governments also agreed to enhance cross-border intelligence sharing and strengthen counterterrorism measures. Experts note that these strategic alliances could significantly influence geopolitical dynamics across Eurasia in the coming years. As the Bishkek summit concludes, working committees will prepare action plans for upcoming bilateral agreements.
