Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref reaffirmed the country’s commitment to dialogue while warning that Iran would respond firmly to any security threat. He also outlined plans to expand industrial development, advance technology, and strengthen regional economic cooperation.

Speaking at the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, Aref said Iran remains committed to diplomacy while strengthening its defense and economic capabilities. He added that recent conflicts highlighted the growing importance of technology and praised Iranian scientists for developing domestic innovations and supporting the country’s defense.

Aref said reconstruction efforts quickly restored industrial facilities following recent attacks. He also emphasized the government’s long-term strategy of shifting from assembly-based manufacturing to knowledge-based industries through research, innovation, and stronger cooperation between universities and manufacturers.

He stressed the importance of expanding economic ties with neighboring countries and regional organizations, including the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), BRICS, and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). According to Aref, stronger regional partnerships will support economic growth and create new trade opportunities.

Artificial intelligence was another key focus of his remarks. Aref described AI as an essential industrial tool and said Iran aims to accelerate digital transformation and expand smart manufacturing across key sectors.

He also called for a two-year industrial development strategy and urged the ministry to present practical solutions to challenges facing the automotive industry. Aref said improving competitiveness, innovation, and production quality remains a national priority.
