Iran’s top defense official, Ali Shamkhani, said the country will not negotiate its missile capabilities. He made the remarks during the 22 Bahman rallies, which celebrate the anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution. Shamkhani serves as the representative of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to Iran’s Council of National Defense. He spoke to reporters on the sidelines of the nationwide rallies, explaining Iran’s stance on defense and diplomacy.

He warned other countries, including the United States, to take ongoing negotiations seriously. Shamkhani emphasized that military displays or threats cannot replace serious talks. He declared that Iran will not compromise on its defense capabilities under any circumstances. He also stressed that missile development plays a central role in the country’s national security and long-term strategy.

Shamkhani said Iran’s armed forces have repeatedly warned that even a limited military attack would trigger a full-scale war. His words highlight the country’s readiness to respond to aggression. In addition, he emphasized the importance of diplomacy and dialogue in reducing tensions. While Iran is prepared to defend itself, it prefers that negotiations proceed seriously and responsibly. Shamkhani urged all parties to respect Iran’s position and avoid testing its resolve, stressing that careful diplomacy maintains stability.

He also pointed out that Iran’s missile program has served as a cornerstone of national security for many years. It ensures deterrence and sends a clear signal that attacks or threats will have serious consequences. Shamkhani made these remarks amid ongoing international talks, and he expects discussions to proceed seriously instead of relying on displays of military power.

Experts say his comments show Iran’s strategy to strengthen defense while engaging in international diplomacy. They also indicate that Iran will continue its missile program despite external pressure. Analysts note that this approach balances firm defense policies with a willingness to communicate through diplomatic channels.

Overall, Shamkhani’s speech combines a clear warning with a diplomatic message. He stressed that missile capabilities are non-negotiable and that serious dialogue remains the only way to avoid conflict. The statement highlights Iran’s commitment to national security and urges other nations to respect its defense priorities. It also shows the balance Iran seeks between strong defense readiness and constructive engagement in international affairs.
