Iran oil exports continue despite Washington’s decision to revoke a temporary sanctions waiver, according to Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad. His remarks signaled Tehran’s confidence in maintaining crude shipments while highlighting another point of disagreement between Iran and the United States.

Speaking on Wednesday, Paknejad said Iran preserved the trade mechanisms developed over many years to overcome restrictions on oil exports. Furthermore, he explained that officials never relied entirely on the temporary exemption established under the memorandum of understanding with Islamabad.

He stated that the sanctions relief became effective under Article 10 of the agreement for a limited period. However, he argued that the United States abandoned the arrangement only days after implementation. Consequently, Iranian authorities concluded that previous export methods remained essential for sustaining energy sales.

Paknejad also revealed that Iran shipped substantial volumes of crude oil while restrictions temporarily eased. Moreover, he confirmed that exporters successfully moved cargo beyond the blockade line before authorities reinstated tighter limitations. He added that existing commercial networks continue supporting oil sales under long-established operating frameworks.

Earlier this month, the U.S. Treasury revoked the license that had temporarily allowed Iranian oil and petrochemical exports. Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry described the decision as another breach of commitments outlined in the ceasefire memorandum of understanding. Tehran also reiterated that it would respect the agreement only if all participating parties fulfilled their obligations equally.

Iran oil exports continue as global energy markets closely monitor developments surrounding sanctions and regional stability. Because Iran holds some of the world’s largest proven oil reserves, changes affecting its exports can influence international supply expectations. Consequently, traders, refiners, and investors remain attentive to official announcements from both governments.

Energy analysts note that sanctions have reshaped Iranian export strategies throughout recent years. Therefore, many believe Tehran has developed alternative logistics, shipping arrangements, and commercial partnerships to maintain overseas crude sales despite ongoing restrictions.

Iran oil exports continue to attract international attention as diplomatic tensions remain unresolved. Looking ahead, policymakers and market participants will monitor future negotiations, sanctions decisions, and export data for indications of either renewed cooperation or continued economic pressure between Tehran and Washington.
