Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian officially inaugurated the country’s first specialized police boarding high school in Tehran on Saturday. The new institution combines conventional secondary education with specialized law enforcement training, physical conditioning, and artificial intelligence studies. Consequently, the initiative creates a new educational pathway for training future security commanders and technical personnel.
The all-male academic program focuses on identifying talented students from an early secondary school age. In addition to general education, admitted students will receive tactical training, physical fitness programs, and marksmanship instruction. Furthermore, officials designed the specialized curriculum to modernize law enforcement capabilities across the country.
National leadership named the new academy after General Mohammad Baqeri, the former Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces. General Baqeri died alongside his family during a targeted missile attack on his residence last June. Therefore, establishing the commemorative institution reflects broader efforts to strengthen and reorganize security infrastructure following significant wartime losses.
Government representatives described the flagship boarding school as a long-term investment in national public safety. Moreover, authorities plan to establish similar specialized law enforcement high schools in six additional provinces. The program aims to create a sustained talent pipeline for specialized officers and senior commanders.
President Pezeshkian emphasized during the opening ceremony that developing young talent remains vital to Iran’s long-term national security. Moving forward, educational administrators expect the specialized boarding school model to expand to other provinces in the coming academic years. Ultimately, the initiative aims to reshape law enforcement recruitment and technical training for future generations.
