Iranian composer Hamed Mokhtarani has initiated an ambitious multidisciplinary project inspired by the Cultural Iranencyclopedia. The musician is collaborating with Professor Dariush Farhud, a prominent pioneer of human genetics in Iran. Together, the creators aim to translate Iran’s rich historical heritage into a contemporary artistic language.

Professor Farhud launched the underlying research initiative in May 2007 alongside dedicated academic colleagues. Over nearly two decades, his team has produced 15 comprehensive volumes spanning thousands of pages. This extensive collection examines national history, literature, civilizational achievements, and artistic expressions in detail.

Mokhtarani thoroughly studied every volume while preparing his original symphonic musical composition. Rather than narrating the texts directly, the musical score reflects broader philosophical concepts through a nonverbal form. Subsequently, the creative team intends to adopt this composition as the project’s official anthem.

The venture also incorporates a major live calligraphy performance at an iconic historical location. During the performance, Mokhtarani will write English words alongside classical Persian poetic verses. Film directors will capture this visual display to create a cinematic feature.

The collaborators plan to premiere the complete multimedia showcase during an exclusive upcoming ceremony. Afterward, international media platforms will distribute the performance video to global cultural audiences. This innovative endeavor unites academic research with visual art to preserve national identity.
