Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni met Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday during an official visit focused on expanding bilateral cooperation. The high-level discussions highlighted the growing importance of security coordination, regional stability, and stronger political ties between the neighboring countries.
The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office, where both sides reviewed issues of mutual interest and explored opportunities for closer cooperation. Before meeting Prime Minister Sharif, Momeni held separate talks with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Asim Munir. Iran and Pakistan share a border stretching approximately 900 kilometers, making security coordination an important priority for both governments.
