Iran has rejected a recent Arab League resolution, and Tehran rejects arab league resolution number 9245 completely. Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran’s UN ambassador, sent a letter to the Security Council. Bahrain transmitted the document as chair of the Arab League session. In short, the resolution carries political motives.

Iravani called the document unfounded and misleading, for the resolution contains allegations that distort the facts. It also ignores the root causes of regional instability, so the ambassador stated that the document omits a central fact. Consequently, Iran rejects arab league resolution for willful disregard of truth.

The US and Israel started their aggression on February 28, and the attacks assassinated Iran’s Leader and senior commanders. Iran responded with daily missile and drone operations, for those strikes targeted Israeli territories and U.S. bases. Yet the Arab League resolution blames Iran instead of the real aggressors.

Iravani said the resolution seeks to distort the legal framework, but it falsely attributes responsibility to Iran. Tehran is a victim of an unlawful war, he added. The ambassador reiterated Iran’s right to self-defense, and those measures include actions in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz.

Iran has taken control of the strategic waterway since the war began, so the country blocked the strait to enemy vessels. Only ships with Iranian permission can transit now, yet the U.S. has imposed a naval blockade on Iranian ports. Meanwhile, Iran rejects arab league resolution that ignores these facts on the ground.

Iravani recalled Iran’s prior communications to the UN, for several Arab states have aided the aggressor, he said. Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE are named. Jordan also received mention in the letter, and all those countries supported the US-Israeli war effort.

The ambassador warned that shielding aggressors will not work, for any attempt to misrepresent realities will fail. Legal facts remain unchanged despite political resolutions, yet those responsible cannot escape their international obligations. Hence, Iran rejects arab league resolution as an act of deflection.

The war has killed thousands of Iranian civilians, and schools and hospitals have suffered bombing campaigns. Iran’s armed forces have shown military capability throughout, for the strait remains under full Iranian control. Regional stability depends on recognizing these realities, so diplomatic efforts continue despite the resolution.

The Security Council has not yet responded to Iran’s letter, and the Arab League has also remained silent publicly. Diplomatic efforts continue through Pakistani mediation, yet the core dispute remains unresolved. Even so, Iran rejects arab league resolution while keeping diplomatic channels open for talks.

The coming weeks will show how regional powers respond, for Arab states may reconsider their positions on the war. Iran maintains its defensive posture in the strait, and rejecting the resolution strengthens Tehran’s diplomatic stance. Still, both sides remain far apart on key issues.
