Iran’s Foreign Ministry reacted strongly to President Trump’s comments. Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said this admission of piracy proves the criminal nature of U.S. actions. Trump openly described the U.S. Navy as acting like pirates while also boasting about enforcing an illegal naval blockade. As a result, this admission proves Washington violated international law.
Baghaei stated that Trump’s words were not a verbal slip. Instead, the president made a direct and damning admission. The U.S. seizes Iranian vessels on the high seas, and these actions illegally target international maritime navigation. Since the blockade lacks any legal basis, this admission of piracy highlights the need for accountability.
The spokesman called on the international community to act. In particular, UN member states must reject any normalization of such violations. The UN Secretary-General should also speak out firmly because the world cannot remain silent in the face of such blatant lawbreaking. According to Baghaei, the U.S. crossed a dangerous line.
