Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf reaffirmed Iran’s diplomatic priorities as tensions continue across the Middle East. He stressed that Iran continues to place strong emphasis on regional cooperation while responding to ongoing security pressures involving the United States and Israel. His message targeted Islamic countries across the region. Qalibaf said Iran consistently prioritizes constructive engagement with neighboring and Muslim-majority countries. He argued that Iran seeks stability through dialogue and mutual respect.

He emphasized that Iran does not present a security threat to surrounding states. Instead, he described Iran’s approach as one focused on friendship and cooperation. Recent diplomatic developments, he noted, illustrate measurable progress in regional relations. The China-mediated agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia in 2023 served as a key reference point. In addition, he highlighted a 2025 meeting involving senior Saudi leadership and Iranian officials. According to him, these steps demonstrate growing trust and diplomatic normalization across parts of the region.

Regarding ongoing tensions, Qalibaf addressed the broader security environment involving the United States and Israel. He stated that the conflict has escalated over recent weeks and has affected regional stability. Moreover, he said Iran did not initiate the confrontation and has responded to actions impacting its sovereignty. He also claimed that external pressure aims to weaken unity among Islamic countries. Security in the region, he argued, cannot depend on foreign intervention. Instead, he said long-term stability requires independence and internal strength. In this context, he again highlighted regional cooperation as the foundation for peace and sustainable development across neighboring states.

The speaker described recent years as a turning point for diplomacy in the Middle East. He said that evolving relations between Iran and Gulf countries reflect a broader shift in political dynamics. Additionally, he noted that economic and security collaboration could expand further if external tensions decline. Over the course of his remarks, Qalibaf reiterated that Iran supports stability through diplomatic engagement. He explained that the country continues to avoid broader escalation despite ongoing strikes and counterstrikes in the region. At the same time, he emphasized that restraint remains a strategic choice aimed at preventing wider conflict.

Officials in Tehran maintain that security challenges stem from external military actions. They argue that sustained dialogue offers the only viable path forward. Meanwhile, analysts in the region also note that energy markets and trade routes remain sensitive to these tensions. The concept of regional cooperation continues to shape Iran’s diplomatic messaging. Qalibaf stressed that regional cooperation remains essential for rebuilding trust among neighboring states. He further added that regional cooperation can reduce misunderstandings and encourage long-term stability.

Iranian officials are expected to continue diplomatic outreach to Gulf and Islamic countries. They aim to balance security concerns with expanding economic partnerships. Observers suggest that future negotiations will likely focus on de-escalation and structured dialogue mechanisms. In conclusion, Qalibaf positioned Iran’s foreign policy as centered on dialogue, independence, and stability. He stated that sustained engagement offers the most practical path toward reducing tensions and strengthening regional ties.
