These countries ignore, unfortunately, American bullying and unlawful behavior. Such double-standard approaches will impact the entire international community. Washington also shifted its positions frequently and threatened Iran repeatedly.
The U.S. has committed frequent breaches of its commitments as well. These actions have hindered, therefore, any progress in diplomacy. Araghchi stated that Iran will make decisions based on past experience. The country has endured two military assaults amidst diplomatic talks. The US also attacked Iran’s peaceful nuclear facilities previously.
Washington added sanctions and economic pressure on Iran continually. American maritime piracy against Iranian merchant ships continues. Iran remembers, accordingly, all these hostile actions. Araghchi also conveyed warm greetings from Ayatollah Khamenei to Putin. The meeting between Putin and Araghchi lasted about 90 minutes.
The two sides discussed, specifically, all issues of bilateral relations. They also covered regional developments thoroughly. The US-Israeli war against Iran received particular attention. Both sides put forward many good ideas about cooperation. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov attended the meeting as well.
Lavrov later described the meeting as useful and productive. Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali spoke on Sunday. He stated that both countries share a common approach to regional issues. Araghchi’s visit formed part of close consultations between Tehran and Moscow. The US-Israeli war of aggression against Iran began on February 28.
The attack included the assassination of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. Several top Iranian military commanders also died in that assault. Iran’s Armed Forces responded with 100 waves of retaliatory strikes. These strikes occurred under Operation True Promise 4. Iran launched ballistic and hypersonic missiles at American bases.
Iranian drones also targeted Israeli positions in occupied territories. A Pakistan-brokered temporary ceasefire took effect on April 8. Forty days of war had passed before that truce emerged.
