A collective wedding for 110 pro-government couples took place today in Tehran. The ceremony occurred at Imam Hossein Square in the southern part of the city. This event directly supports the so-called Janfada campaign. Consequently, it highlights efforts to demonstrate public backing for Iran’s leadership. The timing coincides with rising fears about a potential new conflict.

This collective wedding aimed to showcase civilian support for the government. Specifically, the couples have ties to the Janfada initiative. State-linked media reported two days ago that 31 million people registered for this campaign. Moreover, authorities have started running firearm training courses for volunteers. These courses target participants who openly support the current administration.

The Janfada campaign has emerged during a difficult period for Iran. For instance, the country has faced severe economic troubles in recent years. Additionally, widespread domestic protests have challenged political stability. Two recent military conflicts have also strained national resources. Therefore, the government now grapples with a legitimacy crisis. Officials increasingly worry about the public’s willingness to back the system.

Many citizens, however, view these events with deep skepticism. Some residents described the collective wedding as purely promotional. They called the ceremony irritating rather than reassuring. Fear about another war also shapes this negative perception. As a result, ordinary people question whether such campaigns reflect real loyalty. Analysts note that forced displays of support often backfire.

Authorities have organized the Janfada drive to counter growing dissent. Meanwhile, they continue to encourage visible acts of allegiance. The collective wedding serves as one such public spectacle. Nevertheless, experts believe symbolic gestures cannot resolve underlying problems. Economic hardship and political repression remain unresolved. Future steps might include larger rallies or more military-style training events. Nonetheless, the government cannot easily erase public anxiety. This tension will likely define Iran’s domestic landscape for months to come.
