U.S. President Donald Trump said negotiations with Iran continued throughout Tuesday, describing the discussions as productive despite ongoing regional tensions. However, he warned that the United States would launch a strong military response if diplomacy failed to produce an agreement.

Speaking after the reported talks, Trump said discussions lasted throughout the day. Moreover, he expressed confidence that negotiations were moving in a positive direction. Nevertheless, he stressed that Washington expected concrete results from future diplomatic efforts.

Iranian officials rejected suggestions that direct negotiations with the United States were taking place. Instead, they said current discussions focus only on maritime coordination with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz.

An Iranian official explained that the talks involve technical and security matters between Tehran and Muscat. Furthermore, the official said no other country participates in the negotiations. He also argued that recent U.S. statements attempt to create the impression of involvement in the ongoing process.

The conflicting statements reveal significant differences between Washington and Tehran. Consequently, uncertainty continues over whether any direct diplomatic channel currently exists between the two governments.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most important energy corridors. Around one-fifth of global oil consumption passes through the narrow waterway each day. Therefore, developments in the region closely influence international energy prices, shipping companies, insurers, and financial markets.

At the same time, Oman continues playing an important diplomatic role. The Gulf state has frequently facilitated communication during periods of regional tension. As a result, both regional and international observers continue monitoring its mediation efforts.

Political analysts say governments often issue different public messages during sensitive diplomatic discussions. Nevertheless, official statements still shape market expectations and regional security assessments.

Looking ahead, investors and policymakers will closely watch future developments. Any diplomatic breakthrough could improve regional stability and strengthen confidence in global energy markets. However, continued disagreements may prolong uncertainty across the Middle East and increase pressure on international shipping and trade.
