Bilateral issues were central in President Masoud Pezeshkian’s recent message to Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince. The Iranian Foreign Ministry clarified that the message did not relate to the Crown Prince’s upcoming visit to the United States.

Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei spoke to journalists on Wednesday, confirming that Iran currently holds no negotiations with the United States. He said bilateral issues with the US remain difficult because of repeated breaches and excessive demands. Baghaei added that Iran will not negotiate with a party that ignores reciprocity or celebrates acts of military aggression.

When asked about Pezeshkian’s message to Saudi Arabia, Baghaei emphasized that it focused exclusively on bilateral issues. He explained that the message expressed Iran’s gratitude for services provided to Iranian pilgrims during last year’s Hajj. It also highlighted the need for continued cooperation to ensure the success of this year’s Hajj.

Baghaei noted that the message was delivered through the head of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization. This step reflects Iran’s commitment to maintaining strong, practical ties with Saudi Arabia in pilgrimage matters. He clarified that the message contained no references to other international or political topics.

The Foreign Ministry stated that focusing on bilateral issues strengthens coordination and smooths Hajj preparations. Baghaei added that Iran values practical cooperation in shared areas of interest. Such efforts foster mutual trust and prevent misunderstandings.

In conclusion, Baghaei confirmed that Pezeshkian’s message highlighted gratitude, cooperation, and coordination. Bilateral issues remain a top priority in Iran-Saudi relations. Officials stressed that focusing on practical matters benefits both countries and supports regional stability.

Bilateral issues, therefore, continue to guide Iran’s approach, showing both nations aim to maintain effective communication, respect, and long-term cooperation.
