Iran-Pakistan cooperation is set to strengthen regional peace, Iran’s top security official said.
Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday. He stressed that closer ties between Tehran and Islamabad can directly support regional peace.

Larijani described Pakistan as a strategic partner that influences regional stability. He explained that Pakistan plays a key role in shaping security dynamics across the region. Furthermore, he highlighted the historical and cultural bonds between the two nations as a strong foundation for collaboration.

He emphasized that boosting cooperation in political, security, and economic areas could enhance peace amid evolving regional challenges. Additionally, Larijani expressed hope that meetings with Pakistani officials would fully address these priorities.

Iran and Pakistan maintain extensive political and security relations. The countries share a long border and frequently coordinate on counterterrorism, border security, and trade. In recent years, they have increased joint efforts to manage regional crises and stabilize volatile areas.

Analysts note that the Iran-Pakistan partnership has gained importance due to shifting alliances and ongoing conflicts in the broader region. By strengthening communication and joint operations, both countries aim to reduce tensions and advance regional peace. Moreover, this collaboration may encourage other regional powers to cooperate more closely.

Security cooperation forms a major focus of Larijani’s visit. He and Pakistani officials will discuss border protection, intelligence sharing, and counterterrorism strategies. In addition, they will review economic initiatives and trade agreements to boost bilateral relations.

Experts suggest that stronger Iran-Pakistan coordination could set a positive example for neighboring countries. Improved collaboration may help mitigate regional conflicts and create a more stable environment for development and investment.

Looking ahead, both governments plan to hold regular consultations and joint operations to ensure long-term stability. Meanwhile, observers expect this visit to produce concrete agreements on security and trade cooperation.

Larijani’s trip highlights Iran’s commitment to building strong partnerships with neighboring countries. By actively collaborating with Pakistan, Iran aims to protect national interests and strengthen regional peace.
