Iran’s naval forces have showcased their growing strength by unveiling the Kurdistan floating naval base and the Sahand destroyer. Army Commander-in-Chief Major General Amir Hatami highlighted the strategic importance of these developments during the National Navy Day ceremony.

Hatami stated that Iran’s naval forces are fully prepared to respond decisively to any threat against national interests. He praised their courage during the eight-year Sacred Defense against Iraq from 1980 to 1988, calling their actions historic in the country’s naval history.

The commander emphasized that Iran’s naval forces benefit from highly skilled personnel, enabling the country to produce critical naval equipment domestically. Cooperation with the Ministry of Defense’s maritime industries and knowledge-based companies has significantly advanced self-sufficiency in naval technology.

Hatami also highlighted Iran’s pioneering role in maintaining regional peace and security. He criticized actions by the Israeli regime as destabilizing and reaffirmed Iran’s unwavering determination to protect its national interests.

Experts note that Iran’s investment in naval forces strengthens both deterrence capabilities and domestic defense industries. By producing equipment in-country, the nation reduces reliance on foreign suppliers and enhances operational readiness. The expansion of naval infrastructure, including new bases and upgraded ships, reflects Iran’s strategic priorities in maritime security.

Looking forward, Iran plans to continue developing its naval forces and maritime technologies. Ongoing collaboration with knowledge-based companies aims to drive innovation and efficiency. Strengthening naval self-sufficiency allows the country to secure territorial waters and expand influence across regional waterways.

In summary, the unveiling of the Kurdistan base and Sahand destroyer highlights the growing importance of Iran’s naval forces. These developments underscore the country’s focus on defense readiness, technological independence, and contribution to regional security.
