Tehran condemned US interventionism as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticized American interference in domestic affairs. Officials argued that Washington’s statements aim to incite violence and destabilize the country. Moreover, the ministry stressed that US interventionism ignores Iran’s legal framework and peaceful public protests. In its statement, the ministry explained that US actions reflect hostility, not concern for ordinary Iranians. Furthermore, it accused Washington of pursuing maximum pressure, sanctions, and threats, intending to fuel unrest. Officials warned that, consequently, such interference undermines national stability and violates international law.

The ministry also highlighted the impact of unilateral sanctions on citizens’ daily lives. According to the statement, economic difficulties partly stem from US financial and trade restrictions. Additionally, it cited US-led psychological campaigns, media disinformation, and threats of military action as forms of pressure on Iran. Historically, Tehran noted the long-standing record of US interventionism. For instance, officials recalled the coup against Iran’s then-democratically-elected government, US support for Iraq during the eight-year war, and backing of Israeli military actions. These events, they explained, illustrate persistent foreign meddling and underscore the need for global attention to uphold sovereignty.

Araghchi reinforced that Iran’s domestic affairs concern only its citizens. He emphasized that the government will continue responding to legitimate economic protests while preventing attempts to escalate unrest. However, recent US comments warning of potential military action drew strong criticism. Experts observed that Iran’s response highlights its focus on national cohesion and Islamic heritage. Analysts also noted that Tehran seeks internal stability while countering external pressure. Therefore, US interventionism complicates diplomatic relations and increases regional tensions.

Moreover, the ministry urged international bodies to recognize the human impact of sanctions, framing them as violations of human rights and international law. Officials called for a stronger global stance against coercive measures, emphasizing accountability for actions that destabilize nations. Looking ahead, Iran plans to continue safeguarding sovereignty and national dignity. Officials highlighted ongoing efforts to address economic challenges while resisting foreign interference. Consequently, observers expect Tehran to remain vigilant and strengthen domestic unity in response to US interventionism.
