Iran and the United States will meet in Geneva on Thursday for the third round of nuclear negotiations. The talks aim to advance efforts toward an agreement on Iran’s nuclear program. Badr bin Hamad Albusaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister, confirmed the talks in Geneva. Oman has helped both sides communicate indirectly and continues to play a mediator role.

The Omani minister said, “We are pleased to confirm that US-Iran negotiations are now set for Geneva this Thursday, with a positive push to go the extra mile towards finalizing the deal.” His statement shows optimism that the talks could make progress. Iran has held earlier rounds of discussions with the United States to settle disagreements over its nuclear activities. The negotiations focus on limiting Iran’s nuclear program in return for easing international sanctions.

Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, said he may meet US officials in Geneva during the upcoming round. This shows that both sides are preparing for direct discussions to move the process forward. The first two rounds of talks took place in Muscat, Oman. They focused on building trust and exploring possible solutions. Officials have said that the negotiations remain sensitive but necessary for regional stability.

The Geneva talks will address key issues, including steps Iran could take to ensure its nuclear program is peaceful and how the US could provide sanctions relief. Experts say these talks are important to prevent tensions and maintain security in the region. Both Iran and the United States have expressed a willingness to continue dialogue.

Analysts note that Oman’s mediation allows the two sides to discuss sensitive matters without direct confrontation. This approach may increase the chances of compromise. As Thursday approaches, the world is watching closely. Success in the talks could lead to important progress in maintaining peace and stability in the Middle East.
