Iran’s military actions remain focused on defending the nation while deterring foreign aggression across the region. A senior Iranian official stated Saturday that Tehran will not target neighboring countries, respecting national sovereignty. The announcement comes amid escalating violence following recent U.S. and Israeli attacks inside Iran’s territory, raising regional tensions.

Abolfazl Shekarchi, spokesperson for Iran’s armed forces, spoke during a live state-run television interview yesterday afternoon. He emphasized that Iran’s military actions target only locations used by enemies for attacks against Iran directly. Shekarchi referenced earlier remarks by President Masoud Pezeshkian, highlighting the interim leadership council’s decision to limit strikes to defensive purposes.

Iran’s military actions aim to punish aggressors while avoiding harm to uninvolved neighboring countries and maintaining regional stability. The official confirmed that Iran has acted against any country facilitating attacks since the very beginning of hostilities. Shekarchi explained that nations refusing U.S. and Israeli access to facilities or airspace remain completely untouched and secure. However, any state providing locations for attacks automatically becomes a legitimate military target under Iran’s defense policy.

The official underlined that Iran respects sovereignty and prioritizes the security of all Muslim states across the region at all times. Iran’s military actions continue despite international pressure, with authorities promising strategic counterstrikes against aggressors targeting Iranian territory or interests directly. Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei also called on the United Nations to fulfill its legal responsibilities during the ongoing conflict immediately. Baghaei described the ongoing war as illegal, urging urgent global accountability for those committing aggression against Iran’s sovereignty.

Shekarchi noted that U.S. and Israeli strikes killed multiple high-ranking Iranian commanders and hundreds of civilians during the attacks. Iran’s military actions have since been responded to with successive waves of missiles and drone strikes targeting the regional assets of the adversaries. Officials emphasized that any cooperation with foreign aggressors will provoke immediate retaliation from Iran’s armed forces to defend national interests. Iran’s military actions reflect Tehran’s commitment to national sovereignty, regional deterrence, and stability, despite ongoing international challenges and scrutiny.

In conclusion, Iran reaffirmed its intention to continue targeting legitimate threats while avoiding neutral, uninvolved neighboring countries entirely. The nation remains determined to defend itself, while demonstrating that cooperation with its enemies comes at serious consequences.
