Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, sharply criticized the United States and Israel for spreading false information about Iran. He accused them of repeating lies to make them appear true. In a statement on his X account,Baghaei said Washington and its allies, especially Israel, spread false claims about Iran’s nuclear program, ballistic missiles, and casualty numbers during January’s unrest. He added these claims mislead the public and aim to shape opinions internationally.

“Professional liars are good at creating the ‘illusion of truth’,” he said. Baghaei cited a propaganda principle by Nazi Joseph Goebbels: “Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth.” Moreover, he explained that the US and its partners now use this method systematically to run a disinformation campaign against Iran. Consequently, Baghaei stressed that allegations about Iran’s nuclear activities, missile program, and casualty figures are part of a series of “big lies.” He warned people not to believe these claims and called them “prominent untruths.” He added that these tactics aim to damage Iran’s reputation and create confusion about its policies.

His remarks reflect ongoing tensions between Iran and Western nations over nuclear and security issues. Iran has consistently rejected accusations about its nuclear program and missile development. In addition, the government calls these claims politically motivated and false. Baghaei made these comments amid rising international attention on Iran, following reports of protests and unrest in several cities earlier this year. Meanwhile, the Iranian government often accuses foreign powers of trying to manipulate public perception and interfere in domestic affairs. As a result, it warns that such interference could escalate tensions and harm regional stability.

By speaking publicly, Iran’s Foreign Ministry aims to challenge misleading narratives. Additionally, it seeks to provide clarity on Iran’s policies. Furthermore, it emphasizes that Iran remains firmly committed to defending its national interests and protecting its sovereignty. It also stresses that its actions align with international law and strategic objectives. Overall, Baghaei’s statements underline that repeated foreign allegations should be treated with caution and skepticism.
