The official funeral committee recently finalized the extensive multi-city memorial arrangements for the deceased Iranian supreme leader. Iman Attarzadeh serves as the primary spokesperson for this funeral planning organization. He officially announced the comprehensive funeral schedule during a press briefing on Monday morning. Officials scheduled the start of the formal commemoration ceremonies for Saturday July fourth. The extensive funeral itinerary covers several major religious and political centers within Iran and Iraq.

Organizers designated the Grand Mosalla of Tehran as the initial location for public mourning. Citizens can attend the public ceremonies in the capital city over a two-day period. This specific portion of the memorial event will conclude on Monday July sixth. Afterwards, the funeral procession will move directly to the religious city of Qom. This city holds massive theological importance for the leadership of the Islamic Republic.

The funeral of Khamenei will cross international borders into neighboring Iraq. Mourners will gather for ceremonies in the historic holy cities of Najaf and Karbala. These cities attract millions of Shia Muslim pilgrims from around the world every year. Therefore, the choice of these locations emphasizes the regional religious influence of the late leader. Finally, the extensive funeral of Khamenei will conclude with a burial ceremony in Mashhad.

The death occurred during intense military operations by the United States and Israel in March. These precision airstrikes targeted several critical strategic locations throughout the Iranian capital. The sudden political vacuum has created significant uncertainty regarding the future leadership of Iran. Consequently, regional analysts expect major shifts in geopolitical alignments across the Middle East. Security forces remain on high alert to maintain domestic stability during the funeral of Khamenei. Government officials have urged citizens to maintain public order during the upcoming nationwide processions.
