Iran strongly condemned Israel for killing four Iranian diplomats in Lebanon, calling the attack a heinous crime. Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations, sent a letter to Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Monday detailing the strike. He reported that the attack hit Beirut’s Ramada Hotel on March 8.

Iravani said the diplomats moved to the hotel after Israel issued public threats. Lebanese authorities coordinated the relocation to ensure their safety. Despite these measures, Israel’s strike killed the diplomats, which Iran described as a heinous crime.

The ambassador emphasized that targeting official diplomats violates the UN Charter and the 1973 Convention on Internationally Protected Persons. He demanded Israel accept full responsibility and face international consequences.

This attack follows rising tensions between Israel, the United States, and Iran. Iran claims these confrontations caused civilian deaths, including women, children, and military leaders. In retaliation, Iran launched missile and drone strikes against occupied territories and U.S. military bases in the region.

Experts warn that assassinating diplomats may destabilize Lebanon. Analysts said the strike threatens foreign missions and increases regional insecurity. Iravani urged the UN to prevent further violations and punish the perpetrators.

Lebanese officials reportedly launched investigations, cooperating with international bodies to evaluate the strike’s legality. Iran plans to raise the issue at the UN Security Council to seek formal condemnation. Diplomats stressed that such attacks may violate international law repeatedly if left unchecked.

Iranian authorities vowed vigilance and warned that future attacks on personnel will trigger strong responses. The incident reflects persistent tensions between Iran and Israel and signals a prolonged period of regional instability. Observers say diplomatic and security consequences will unfold in the coming weeks.
