Iran’s Army has taken a major step to strengthen its defense by integrating 1,000 strategic drones into four main units. Strategic drones will now play a central role across all branches of the Army. This integration comes as part of a broader effort to improve readiness against emerging security threats. The new drones were developed after careful study of recent operational experiences. Army specialists, working alongside the Ministry of Defense, designed the drones to respond to modern threats efficiently. They cover a wide range of operations, including strike missions, offensive operations, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare.

Strategic drones can target both fixed and mobile objects across land, sea, and air. This capability allows the Army to respond quickly to any potential aggression. The integration of both ground-based and sea-based drones ensures that the Army maintains a strong presence in all operational domains. Army chief Major General Amir Hatami said the move reflects Iran’s commitment to preserving and expanding its strategic advantages. He added that maintaining high preparedness for rapid combat operations remains a top priority. Hatami emphasized that the Army’s planning focuses on fast and decisive responses.

Experts say the deployment of strategic drones strengthens Iran’s ability to monitor regional activity and defend its interests. Furthermore, the drones’ diverse capabilities enable commanders to conduct precise strikes while limiting risks to personnel. The Army plans to continue improving drone technology and increasing operational readiness. As threats evolve, the strategic drones will remain a key part of Iran’s military strategy. Army officials stated that this integration is only the beginning of a broader modernization program.

With this initiative, Iran demonstrates its focus on modern warfare tools and emphasizes self-reliance in defense production. The Army continues to train personnel to operate drones effectively and to coordinate missions across multiple branches. This ensures that strategic drones are not just tools but a core part of operational planning. Overall, the addition of 1,000 strategic drones marks a significant boost in Iran’s military capabilities. The Army aims to maintain constant vigilance and rapid response ability while enhancing deterrence against potential adversaries.
