Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei issued a statement on Saturday evening criticizing the United Nations Security Council. He condemned recent military strikes in southern Lebanon that caused eleven casualties. Several women and children died during the unexpected morning bombardment. Additional civilians sustained serious injuries during the assault on southern communities.

Baghaei expressed deep disappointment over the international body’s continued inaction. He noted that international silence encourages ongoing breaches of sovereignty. Furthermore, he reaffirmed Iran’s unwavering diplomatic support for Lebanese sovereignty. The spokesman also commended the resilience shown by local communities.

The latest offensive damaged residential structures and critical public infrastructure. Tensions across the region remain high as military operations continue unabated. Diplomatic efforts have struggled to produce an effective international response. Iranian officials repeatedly urge regional partners to take collective action.

Diplomatic observers view the statement as part of broader geopolitical friction. UN Security Council members remain divided over how to handle the crisis. Consequently, regional organizations face increasing pressure to address humanitarian concerns. Affected populations continue to face displacement and unstable security conditions.

Looking ahead, Tehran plans to pursue further diplomatic discussions with regional allies. International monitoring groups continue tracking casualties and infrastructure damage throughout southern areas. Meanwhile, global community leaders face mounting calls to enforce immediate ceasefires. Future Security Council sessions will likely address these expanding conflict parameters.
