Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said on Sunday that Iran islands defense remains a top priority. Moreover, he warned regional states not to challenge Iran’s determination to protect its territory. Ghalibaf referred to recent claims about the three Iranian islands: Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa. However, he said such claims are unfounded and unacceptable. The Iranian nation will always defend its islands.
He also highlighted the importance of Iranian students in history. He said students have often led the fight against colonial powers and dictators. They guided society, stood against global powers, and made sacrifices to protect Iran’s future. Ghalibaf also remembered the three martyrs of the December 7 incident. In addition, he honored all student martyrs, including those from the Sacred Defense and the 12-day war. Their sacrifices inspire the country to stay strong.
The speaker praised the IRGC Navy’s recent naval drill. Furthermore, he said the missiles hit their targets accurately. He added that Iranian experts successfully tested long-range precision missiles, which protect the Persian Gulf and nearby islands. Ghalibaf stressed that regional neighbors should not test Iran’s resolve. As a result, he said the Iran islands defense is not negotiable. Any challenges to Iran’s territorial integrity will meet a firm response.
He added that Iran seeks peace and stability in the region. Meanwhile, respect for neighbors and territorial integrity remains a priority. Nevertheless, Iran will defend its islands and borders without hesitation. The Parliament Speaker warned that baseless claims are often influenced by outside countries.
Therefore, neighbors must respect Iran’s sovereignty and avoid actions that could lead to conflict. In conclusion, Ghalibaf emphasized that Iran islands defense is crucial. Finally, he called on all nations to respect Iran’s rights, noting that protecting the islands reflects the nation’s strength, independence, and commitment to peace.
