Iran’s Abazari Wins Silver at 2025 World Karate Championships

Iran made a strong mark at the 2025 World Karate Championships. The competition was held from November 27 to 30 in Cairo, Egypt. Athletes from around the world competed in exciting matches. Saleh Abazari of Iran won a silver medal in the Male Kumite +84 kg category. He faced Italian Matteo Avanzini in the final. The match ended in a 2-2 tie, and Avanzini won by Hantei. Despite the narrow loss, Abazari’s performance highlighted Iran’s strength in karate.

Sanad Sufyani of Saudi Arabia and Ivan Kudzinau from the World Karate Federation each won bronze medals. The Iranian team performed very well overall. They earned one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal. This strong showing helped Iran finish second in the overall rankings. Atousa Golshadnezhad brought a gold medal in the Female Kumite -61 kg category. She defeated China’s Gong Li 4-2 in the final match. Her victory added to Iran’s medal tally and boosted the team’s morale.

Sara Bahmanyar also won bronze in the Female Kumite −50 kg division. Her medal contributed to the team’s strong performance at the championship. Egypt led the competition with three gold medals and one bronze. Still, Iran showed that it can compete strongly with top karate nations. The event featured top athletes and exciting matches each day. Iran’s team impressed with preparation, focus, and teamwork throughout the tournament.

Overall, Iran’s Abazari won silver, Golshadnezhad won gold, and Bahmanyar won bronze. These achievements highlight Iran’s growing success in international karate. Iran is expected to continue performing well in future tournaments. The 2025 World Karate Championships confirmed that Iran’s athletes are a strong and rising force in global karate.
