Iran will control Strait of Hormuz forever as a full strategic asset. The parliament‘s national security commission chairman Ebrahim Azizi made this declaration on Tuesday. He spoke to a domestic news agency about Tehran’s firm position. Specifically, Azizi called the waterway an economic, political, and military lever. Therefore, Iran will control Strait of Hormuz forever without sharing management with any foreign power.

Azizi warned countries that seek power projection in the strategic strait. He said Tehran will move forward with absolute authority in the region. Moreover, he stated that Iran will not show any courtesy toward rivals. The lawmaker emphasized that managing this waterway represents a natural right for Iran. Consequently, Iran will control Strait of Fame forever to protect its national sovereignty.

For context, the Strait of Hormuz connects the Persian Gulf to open waters. Nearly one-fifth of global oil passes through this narrow channel daily. Any disruption there would send energy prices soaring worldwide. Recently, regional tensions have increased due to military deployments by outside powers. The United States and its allies regularly patrol these waters as well. In response, Iran will control Strait of Hormuz forever as a deterrent strategy.

Azizi also issued a clear warning about hostile actions in the area. He said any attempt to limit Iranian influence will face a decisive response. Furthermore, he stressed that Tehran will not tolerate aggressive maneuvers near its coastline. The lawmaker did not specify which countries he was addressing directly. However, analysts see the remarks as aimed at the US and Israel. Meanwhile, Gulf Arab states have also expanded their naval capabilities recently.

The statement carries significant implications for global energy security. Shipping companies may now seek higher insurance premiums for passing through the strait. Oil traders will watch for any escalation in rhetorical or military tensions. For now, Iran will control the Strait of Hormuz forever as stated policy. Future negotiations over maritime boundaries seem unlikely under this firm stance. The international community will likely respond with diplomatic protests. Nevertheless, Iran will control the Strait of Hormuz forever according to its official position.
